What We Collect
When you use Jadrio, we may collect: • Location data, collected while the app is open, to find beaches near you and to verify you are physically at a beach when submitting contributions or reviews. • Account data, your email address and display name, when you create an account. • User preferences, such as language and notification settings, stored locally on your device and synced to your account when signed in. • User-generated content, beach contributions (surface type, access, crowd level, amenities, tips, and optional photos) and reviews that you choose to submit.
Location Data
Location is central to how Jadrio works. We use it to: • Show beaches near your current position and calculate distances. • Personalise recommendations based on where you are staying. • Verify that you were physically at a beach when you submit a contribution or review. This location check keeps community information accurate and trustworthy. Location is collected only while the app is open. We do not track your location in the background. Your precise coordinates are not stored permanently, only a proximity check against a beach's GPS boundary is recorded alongside your contribution.
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to: • Provide beach recommendations tailored to your location and preferences. • Allow you to save favourite beaches and track your visits. • Display community contributions and reviews from other users. • Verify the authenticity of contributions and reviews through location checks. • Improve beach information accuracy over time. We do not sell your personal data to third parties and do not use it for advertising profiling.
Third-Party Services
Jadrio relies on these third-party services: • Supabase, our authentication and database provider. Your account credentials and profile data are stored securely by Supabase. See supabase.com/privacy for their policy. • Open-Meteo, which provides weather and marine condition forecasts. No personal data is sent to Open-Meteo. • OpenStreetMap, which provides mapping and beach location data. No personal data is sent to OpenStreetMap.
Your Rights (GDPR)
As a user in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation: • Access, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Rectification, ask us to correct inaccurate data. • Erasure, ask us to delete your account and associated personal data. • Data portability, receive your data in a structured, commonly used format. • Withdraw consent, revoke location access at any time through your device settings. Data Retention
Your account data and preferences are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Community contributions and reviews may be retained in anonymised form to preserve beach information accuracy for other users, even after your account is deleted.
